Winguard Satellites

I purchased a automatic rotating antenna this past November, to be installed on my new 2014 Thor Hurricane 32A. I also bought the Direct TV box, cables, and mounting bracket, and installation fee, all for close to a $1000.00. I did this as we were preparing to go full time. Well, we are now full time, and 2 days ago I had Direct TV come to turn on my service. I was informed that the satellite and box were outdated by at least 3 years, and could not be used. Also, the wiring CW did is not correct. The Direct TV installer gave me a new box and was able to install it thru the DVD system. The satellite is able to lock on one TV satellite, but that is all. I called CW Garner, NC and asked to speak to the store manager. I got a store clerk instead. She tried to be helpful, and was constantly putting me on hold trying to get answers. finally, I was informed that this was the equipment CW sold, and nothing could be done. I am a ELITE/LIFE Good Sam member, and have bought 3 NEW RVs in 3 years from CW and I do not expect to be cheated this way. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!!
  • The Winegard Trav'ler gets all Directtv hd. It mounts on the roof and finds the sats automatically. It supports 4 DVR's.
  • Buyer beware. Next time READ what you are buying! Just because the receiver does not receive HD, does not make it outdated. DirecTV still and always will be selling and supporting SD receivers. That's why they still work!
  • Now that I have had my Trav'ler for a while, I am very happy with it and how it integrates into our systems. It's expensive but worth the money.
