It would be nice to see more small class "A"s like the Via, but I'd probably look elsewhere, or maybe go for a class "C". Mainly because a class "A", all but the actual drivetrain comes from Winnebago, so parts can be hard to find, and finding people who can work on them can get more difficult, as few service depots can work on these. (It used to be Mercedes, Freightliner, and Dodge, but now, only a few M-B shops have the lifts.)
I wish Winnebago kept selling the Via, especially if it had a 4x4 option. However, unless one wanted to know the ins and outs of it, I'd look elsewhere, perhaps a Sprinter based class "C", which is almost as good, but a lot easier to get work done on it. - way2rollNavigator II

Btw - tons of Sprinter based class C's out there if your main criteria is a small diesel. Not nearly as many FREDs. Greater availability for parts and service.

My first piece of advice would be; since you took the time to create an account here on the forum, that you return to see responses. Secondly, despite MPG and general positive feedback, FREDs (front engine diesel class A's) didn't sell well. Their fine on performance etc, but I would worry about parts and mechanics to work on them. But they still share a lot if the same parts as other RVs.
Here's a link to another post on this forum that provides some feedback;
