I too have a TP Link multi-function device Can work as router, client or repeater (Range extender) sixteen bucks
Normally about the cheapest is Belkin.. I have come to dislike them
Linksys and Netgear all make good routers as does Hawking
If you have friends that come over look for a router with a "Guest" log in (some Belkings and Hawkings have this) A Guest can access the internet via my router BUT ONLY THE INTERNET Guest can not access any printer or computer connected to my (Owner) side of the router.

B is slow, Ge is faster N has greater range and AC is so new odds are none of your clients can use it.
