'101' Propane question

This is a basic propane pressure question. Am I able to take the propane tank on my popup, remove it, and use it on a gas grill at home? Do I need any type of regulator, or just simply attach it? Thanks.

If the home grill is designed to use a tank.. You can transfer easily

With the new ACME connectors it is very easy (No wrench needed)

Assuming your trailer doesn't have a permanently mounted propane tank, and popups typically do not, the propane tank (technically a "bottle") is exactly the same as that used with a gas grill, with the possible exception of capacity. You can use the trailer bottle for the grill and vice-versa.

If you want to get technical, it is true that it is a bottle but it is specifically a 'DOT cylinder'. They are required to meet Department of Transportation standards as portable cylinders.

    Yes, they are interchangeable.

No problem , I'll use one of my trailer tanks if I run out of gas on the Weber bbq at home. Same connection, just a taller tank. The Weber doesn't know the difference.

  • Your grill at home should have a regulator just up the hose from the connect point.
