Our first MH was a 26' 1985 Class C with the 460. It had a carburetor and enough smog gear to power a small city. What a POS. 6 mpg at sea level and about 4.5 in the mountains. There are a lot of mountains in this neck of the woods.
I personally would not consider a Ford 460, particularly one that didn't have fuel injection. I'm quite satisfied with my V-10, whose gas mileage isn't altitude dependent.
That old turkey only had a 3-speed automatic - no "passing gear".
