I would say it depends on where you are camping at what time of year it is. Also do you want the convenience of running the air and AC at the same time. A 30A to 50A adapter will power up both sides of your 50A rig at the same time, but you will be limited to 30A. If someone forgets and turns on to much stuff you will pop the pedestal breaker. Does the 50A site cost more? It really depends on if you like the site better and what you are willing to compromise. Remember 30AX120V=3600W and 50AX240V=12000W so quite a bite of power difference.
