Very simply put.
You have a 30 amp TT so that's all you need is 30 amp.
Always carry the 50 amp to 30 amp adapter for places that don't have 30 amp or the 30 amp is in bad shape.
Surge protector is a very generic term. If you get one,you need an EMS that protects against low voltage and spikes like the Progressive Industries PTC-30.
PI also sells a hard wired EMS unit.
