It's not that the truck can't pull it- IT WILL ..it's not that the truck won't stop it-IT WILL .. It's the weight of the STUFF in the bed and in the front of the axles of the trailer that will be the deciding factor..you stated that when it was all said and done , at the scale you had 1,285# left for the hitch and the trailer... The world will not end if you do decide to tow it... You will not cause the next apocalypse , like some would lead you to believe..that's why manufacturers give ratings , so we have a point of reason... In my opinion , after driving many 1/2 ton trucks (even having a 2013f-150 now) is that I would feel safe doing that...I do think it's was a great learning point for some , seeing you do all the proper homework BEFORE making a decision...
