No way my RV purchase is any sort of an investment. In fact, it drives me to spend even more money. I used to go on vacations maybe once or twice a year, max.. and then, usually one of those two was to a relatives somewhere. Now, because I enjoy my TT so much, I strive for at a minimm once a month to take a long weekend and get away to new and different places.
So, not only does the TT cost me money on a monthly basis, that I would have normally not spent, but I also spent more on accommodations every month, than I would otherwise.
BUT, I LOVE IT. And I wouldn't change it for the world.. other than maybe go more than once a month.
There is no way one can even attempt to justify a RV purchase as an investment, or a way to save money. But, most of us know this going in, and don't feel the need or desire to have to try to rationalize or justify it. It is a hobby/entertainment expense that I have zero problems spending money on.
I collect guns, and go shooting quite often at the gun range. I took up reloading, openly claiming it would save money over commercial ammo. All the while I knew I would shoot more, therefore spend more money than I otherwise would. I have no issues spending that money either. Can't recoup burnt gunpowder.
