Towing a trailer is different than driving a 21ft class C.
I agree with the others. Since you and your wife don't like owning a motorhome, i'd rent one when you have the grandkids. No maintenance; no sitting unused; no regrets.
With a rental, you get the enjoyment of a motorhome without the work.
When the kids move on with their lives, you aren't staring at an RV wondering why you bothered.
