Anyone Bring The Bean Bag Toss Game (Corn Hole) To Camp?

I know I'm going to sound like a crumudgeon, but...

I've done it. I'll never do it again. See, I've got no problem with having a grand ol' time all day long, but when night comes, the bean bag toss games are every bit as annoying as any other rowdie neighbor. The constont random POCK! of the bags hitting the boards gets old really fast. Combine the noise with the inevitable drunken hooting and hollering and (seemingly) mandatory 300-watt floodlights used to illuminate the playing area after dark, and the novelty wears of really quick.

I've been that guy before... The one playing well past quiet time, oblivious to the fact that there are others who have small children trying to sleep, or may be trying to enjoy the quiet sounds of nature. Now, a few years older and marginally wiser, I see the err in my youthful ways. Once night falls, please, I beg of you, be respectful of your neighbors and finish the tournament in the morning.

I had a recent bad experience a couple summers ago... Camping with a 3-month old in a popup directly next to a family with three, yes THREE sets of boards set up directly behind our popup, and a Labradork that barked at virtually every bean bag lobbed either direction... I asked politely, they declined to stop. I asked a little less politely the second time, noting that it was past quiet time, and asking for some consideration of my sleeping 3 month old just feet from their game (with floodlights streaming in, of course). They again declined. I did not ask a third time, called the front gate, registered the complaint, and the Indiana DNR shut them down for me. I received some cross looks the rest of the weekend, but I can live with that.

So please, I beg of you, as with everything else while comping, be respectful of your neighbors and, specifically, what effect your actions have on them.

I almost got the boards out this weekend. Can't wait to take them camping.

we are retired Air Force and played corn hole a lot! When the Chiefs got together it was a hoot! DH made our regulation board with 2 different Packer logos. They are beautiful. And yes, they are regulation. Just google corn hole and you'll find everything you need to know.

yes the group of 4 to 5 units we camp with some times will get it going.

it is quit popular and seems to have an addiction factor i don't quit understand

We didn't have the boards in Talledega last year so the fellas camped next door let us pound their corn holes.

We're headed to TMS this year and I'm going to build a set of my own.

I can't wait for the warm weather to start playing. I saw these cool boards on CraigsList.

I can put up with a lot from my camping neighbors, kids yelling, dogs barking, music playing...

...but I'm not sure I could tollerate listening to them pound each others corn hole all night long!

I checked out a couple " official" Cornhole sites for specs on dimensions, they were not all the same. But they were consistent with the 2' x 4' dimension. And the size and placement of the hole.
