The Colby T is so low to the ground that I have no need of the rod to pull the awning down. I've used it for other purposes, though. Great way to get wipes out of the black tank. I accidentally dropped a Clorox wipe down when cleaning the toilet. Every time I ran water to fill the black tank before dumping, I could see it floating in there. The awning tool did the trick.
