Awning question?

You can try something like this:

I use L.A. Totally Awesome from the Dollar Store, Dollar Tree or 99cent only store. Walmart has it occasionally. I make a diluted solution and a brush or stiff broom and then rinse. Let awning dry well before you roll it up.

It's caused by either rolling up the awning when it's still wet or water intrusion from rain while on the road or hose when washing the RV. It's difficult to prevent but usually easy to scrub/wash off.

I use a squirt of Dawn dish soap and a couple of chugs of bleach with about 3 gallons of water and brush on with a sponge mop or wash brush and wait about 2 minutes and rinse. Another method is just buy some bathroom mold mildew shower cleaner and spray on and wait a few minutes and rinse.

I used rv awning cleaner from Walmart and it didn’t work at all. I’m so pissed

It's probably the same Camco brand bob213 linked. Every camping supply store carries it but it doesn't seem to work very well.

Dawn, bleach and water mixed well. Put in heavy duty sprayer and squirt away. Roll up the awning for about an hour, then unroll and rinse well with hose. Do not let the stuff roll down the side of your trailer - it WILL take off wax and shine.

I will roll ours up, then spray the sides down well, then after I unroll the awning, I'll spray it down again to get any residue off.

We used the Dawn dish soap and white vinegar mixture. Worked like a charm! (and not as toxic in my opinion than the bleach.)

1 part Dawn to 1 part vinegar. My husband discovered this online for cleaning soap scum off an old fiberglass tub. Worked so well, we tried it with the awning and it works great! I buy Dawn by the huge bottle at Costco to have on hand for cleaning. Per hubby, you heat the vinegar in the microwave, pour it in a spray bottle, then add the Dawn. Spray it on the awning. Roll up your awning and let it sit for 15 minutes or so, unroll and gently scrub with a long handled foam mop, rinse and you're done.
