Best Late 1980's early 1990's Class B that sleeps 4.

Hi,

I am looking for a class B camper van that can sleep 4. I do not have the space to park a class A or C so I will have to go with a Class B. The older ones are in my price range. What models and engine types should I look for? What are the biggest problems I should look out for?

Thanks,

Charlie in New Jersey
  • You are looking at vehicles that are 20 to 30 years old. Condition is far more important than the name on the side.
  • We have 1999 class B Great West Van . Previous owner pulled out the toilet/shower and converted it to a coffee table (which can be lower to be a bed) . I have a family of 5 (husband, wife + 3 kids) and we feel it is big enough for our family . We can even invite another person to join us.

Our van has 2 beds (upper level on top of the driver's seat and lower on on the back). The guest can sleep in dining area .

Well, back in the old days when we first migrated to the USA. Three families (18 of us) lived in a small house and we never complained that it was small :) It is always large enough if you don't demand for "American standard" RV :)
  • Are you really looking for a Class B that sleeps 4??
A Class B is a Van conversion and most are hard pressed to sleep 2.
There are some called B+ that are way more than a van conversion, but don't meet some people's definition of a Class C because they don't have a bed over the cab.

    Good Luck

    Matt
