Stop in or call your local police or sheriff station or even state patrol . They will be able to tell you or show you the information you need. If you are at the station they will probably print you out a copy if you ask.. I asked my father-in-law who was in law inforcement (retired) .. It differs in alot of states but he suggested you just call or stop into your local station an they would most likely be happy to talk to you bout it.. He also said that usually here in Ohio anyone in the vehicle with open container is not a good thing.. In the fridge would be no issue. In the trash if the officer is that concerned (would depend on why he stopped you)he would touch the container to see if its cold or not to see if its a fresh one. Otherwise trash can containers is not a problem..
