4X4van has a great idea, use common sense. None of us drink and drive correct, so don't need to discuss that.
Can others in your rig drink while you are driving, my understanding it is like the T.V. law, if the driver does not have access, it's acceptable.
I think most states have deposits on beverage containers, we save our empties in a big old Yellow GS bag in the shower and drop them off when we find a government run park that recycles. There is NO LAW against having an open and empty container in a motor vehicle and further it is not the intent of any law to say an empty container in the trash or recycling is unlawful. If you're erratically and there are empties in the vehicle, they are an indication that you might be under the influence and prompt further investigation by a LEO under the probable cause statues. But if a LEO does not see you drinking, well it is considered DUI but should not add drinking while driving charges because there is no witness.
So I feel most of us that care enough to read these forums, care enough not to do really stupid life threatening things while in our rigs. I believe you do anyway.
