The more truthful statement is that they WON'T do warranty work, not they CAN'T do warranty work.
Contact the manufacturer and find authorized warranty places near you. You don't need to take it to a dealer, often times there are independent shops that can handle warranty repairs.
If you buy online, make sure you are buying from a reputable business. Make sure they are an authorized distributer for the manufacturer, or else the manufacturer might not even extend the warranty to you.
