The OP admitted to liking his TV and having need for internet, so why do some of you find it necessary to tell us about how it isn't something you need. Who cares and how does it answer the OP's question.
Now to your answer. We've traveled all over the country. We LIKE TV and I enjoy watching it in the evening. We have DirecTV with an automatic satellite (no pointing cell phones in the air or running around the campground). Most locations will have some over the air and almost always some fuzzy cable with local stuff. If that's all you need, fine.
Internet varies from campground to campground. Many campgrounds have learned that people really want good internet. With that said, if you really need/want internet, you'll probably have to buy something like the MiFi to be guaranteed good service. It sounds like you use/depend on internet more than we do. We've been okay with most campgrounds and on occasion use our cell phones as a hot spot, but that gets expensive. I think the next big trip we'll get a MiFi set up.
