We are also used to have our TV channels and internet access when we are on the road. We have tried using campground cable and WiFi and it did not work well. If cable is available, it is often very limited. WiFi is usually VERY slow if you can use it at all. We use the campground's WiFi when we can, but have the mobile hotspot available. We have an external satellite dish - the Winguard X2 - and we have the same Dish programming on the road as we do at home. We really like the external satellite. We have 100 feet of low loss cable. It gives us a lot of flexibility of where to put the satellite dish. We had only one campground where the trees were so thick we could not get satellite access. We use an app for our Android phone to find the satellites. It makes placing the dish very easy.
