Depends on what you mean by coach batteries. On my 'C', the coach (engine) battery is charged by the alternator when rolling down the road. The 'house' battery is charged when I plug into 30A at a campground. The only thing that uses the house battery while moving is the reefer, unless passengers are watching TV or using the microwave. In that case, which is rare since I'm single, I fire up the generator while moving to top off the battery. It uses the same gas as the 'C', but shuts off at a quarter tank.
