Greetings,So,we've hit the most recent in a long series of one frustrating snag after another and I'm really hoping someone can help. We are currently in Arizona and looking at Travel Trailers. It looks like the State of AZ wants us to buy the trailer - including getting the title notarized??? - then go to AZ DMV to get some sort of 3-day permit...I figure they then want you to bring the trailer to the DMV and they'll do their thing...but even if I have those first steps correct, we then want to actually register the trailer to a NV-based corporation. I *think* we might be able to register it in AZ to the NV-based company, but I'm not sure and I'm not even sure I've got those first steps right! Help greatly appreciated. I'm now here on the forum instead of going to look at the 4 trailers I narrowed this morning's list down to...starting to lose hope that we'll ever get this show on the road.

I don't think they want any more than proof of sale. Then they will issue you a 3 day travel permit to get it to Nevada.

Every state I've ever worked with has some type of "Drive Out" title. The dealer should be able to set it up for you. If you are buying private party, there may be a "title service" that can do it.I once bought a used Blazer in Sturgis, South Dakota, drove it with a paper tag taped in the rear window to Florida where I titled it, paid the sales tax, and got a tag.

It looks like you can get the permit from servicearizona.com and print it at home without going to the Arizona DMV.Typically when purchasing a used vehicle or trailer out-of-state, you get the title signed over and a bill of sale, go to the DMV in the state where you're purchasing the vehicle, and get a transit permit (or whatever they call it—a temporary registration of some sort) by showing the paperwork and paying a more or less nominal fee. You then drive/tow the vehicle to your home state and get a permanent title and registration, rendering unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's at that time. Specific details can vary on both ends; state laws aren't entirely consistent. You do need to take care of applicable liability insurance; for a trailer, that's covered by the tow vehicle's insurance policy, I suspect.If you are a resident of Arizona and the company in Nevada exists only to register your RV, you may well find Arizona getting annoyed at what they believe to be tax dodging. Make sure you comply with all the laws precisely in terms of where the trailer is kept and driven and registered and all that sort of thing.

I would think you would need a businesses address and license to do business in AZ.

Can't get any more 'beginner' - Titles? In AZ, NV Corp?

Sounds like to OP has an Arizona corporation. Should not be a problem titling and registering it to the company. Just pay for it out of the corporate checking and go from there. But if you are using it for personal reasons this could lead to some issues if you (the corporation) is ever audited.

If I understand your post, and I am not sure I do, to register a vehicle in the name of a Corp..any type of Corp. you will ned to take your Articles of incorporation and any documents that have assigned you authority to sign for the Corp. Such as being the Secretary. You may also ned your corporate Federal ID number. And of course all of the usual Id you'd need for a personal registration. Each state may have it's own set of rules. It should all be listed on the State Web site for the DMV. If not Call them or visit.

I just registered a fiver in AZ that I bought which had an Illinois title. I called the DMV number and the person walked me through the procedure.

she told me the form to download and the blanks that might cause trouble. 10 minutes at the CASA GRANDE DMV and I walked out with the title for AZ. USED the CG I was at as local address and my New York adress as the mailing address..
BTW private party transaction has no sales tax'

The title transfer has to be notarized only if the STATE issuing the title you are getting from the seller requires it. So look at the title you are getting does it say it needs to be notarized?

You can also get a 90-day Nonresident Registration Permit

I do not believe you can register a vehicle in Az without an Arizona address. Why not register it in Nv, since that is where your business is? And no, only motorized vehicles require an inspection in Az. Also, you can get a 10 or 30 day trip permit.
