I always let my engine warm for a few minutes until things have a chance to get to flowing good, gas and diesel. First thing in the morning @ moderately cool mornings is less than very cold mornings. I've never felt a need to idle for an hour, but if you can't handle 10-15 minutes, please accept my apologies now. After leaving, I just baby it until the temp needle rises a bit.
Opon shut down, I follow the recommendations in the owners manual. At least five minutes especially after long steep pulls with heavy loads. My turbo saver does this for me. Great little gadget!
