Changing oil and engine idling after long trips?

Where I live, it is currently 2 degrees at 8:00 PM. Duramax is plugged in and ready for work tomorrow morning. With that, engine tech experience or not, GM/Isuzu built it with a high idle/engine warm-up feature for a reason. She can idle for 5 minutes before I hit the road. As Veebyes stated, off-ramp and into the campground, then park in your spot and get leveled is plenty of time to cool the turbo down.
