- Doubt you will need propane on the road. Most likely you will top off at your destinations. If the camp does not have it they will certainly be able to assist finding a location. Not a big deal generally.
- BizmarksMomExplorerIf the gas station doesn't have propane, go inside and ask. They'll tell you where the nearest propane is.
- Tal_ILExplorerSince I discovered that Menard's has propane stations, that's where I've been filling up. Very quick, efficient "pay at pump" and I'm on my way.
- old_guyExplorerjust make sure you turn off the frig and anything else that might make your MH explode. I saw it once and it was not pretty. if you don't believe me then go to youtube and look up a few of the ones that blew up while refilling the propane tanks
- doxiemom11Explorer IIWe have gotten propane at gas stations , Flying J truck stops, and at campgrounds. The campgrounds are usually more expensive. We have also asked others in the area and have been referred to hardware stores , propane companies, u-haul locations etc. Flying J is probably where we have filled the most.
- obgrahamExplorerRV parks were always the easiest source of LP for me.
- DrewEExplorer IIIf you don't see propane at the gas station, ask around. Often hardware stores, TSC, Agway, U-Haul, and of course propane dealers sell propane.
Unless you have a propane generator or are using the furnace a whole lot, it's unlikely you'll need propane super frequently. With the fridge, water heater, and cooking, I went about five weeks between propane fill-ups on a recent long trip. Of course that varies a lot with different tank sizes and usage habits, but it might give something of a general idea. - jplante4Explorer IIThe Allstays app has propane locations along the way.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IIMany of the Flying J truck stops have bulk propane available. It's usually near the RV lanes. If you have a smartphone, the Pilot/Flying J app will tell what amenities each location has. The Pilot stops are less likely to have propane, but some do. I've never seen propane at a Love's or TA, but some may have it.
- LwiddisExplorer IIFull propane tanks don’t need refills often unless you are using the furnace. While not as available as gasoline, propane can be purchased easily. Most stations that sell propane have signs. Buying propane isn’t something to worry about.
Sorry to read you only travel interstates. :(
