Apr 13, 2017I think our "rule" will be that if we spend the night in a state AND if that stay warrants a note/story in my wife's diary/blog for the trip. I am almost certain that my wife will dictate that we stay at a campground of some sort and not just a parking lot. She's already said "What's the point of getting the RV if we stay at truck stops or rest areas? There are plenty of campgrounds everywhere and lots to see on the way to our destination." I love that she looks at the trip to our final destination as an adventure in itself.
We have made the trip from Alabama to SD a few times to visit her parents. We have always taken 2 days and be up at the buttcrack of dawn to start each day of driving. Now with the RV, she is saying we can take the same trip in 3-4 days and stop see things on the way. Mainly because she in not couped up in a truck.
I like the idea of getting stickers from the campgrounds (if they have them).
