How do you know that the manual was written by the Engineers? I think lots of times, the legal department has lots of input.
And, how do you know that the engineers hooked the car up to a range of trailers and campers and used that experience in writing the manual?
And, how often have you found instruction manuals to poorly explain reality? How often have you engaged in conversations with experienced persons?
Do you even like the subject of towing? I find a lot of joy in discussing the ins and outs of what is written and what is real.
One also does not have to look very far to find frequent examples of how engineers can be wrong.
