Confused on waxing...

I've read a number of the threads on waxing and it all tends to just confuse me. I'm looking at waxing ours for the first time this fall (bought it brand new last fall), and it will be my first time through the process.

The manual says 'wax with any standard wax,' but I read on here all of the comments about avoiding the decals because of potential damage. Is that really what people do? When I look at the number of decals and graphics on our rig, I note the significant amount of space (between letters, around graphics, etc...) that would not receive any wax.

How do you go about it? Do you wax everything, or do you somehow avoid the decals? I want to take the best care possible of our rig, but I've never waxed an rv in my life (haven't waxed a car in 20 years), so I'm looking for a little clarity on what people do.

Thanks!

Aerospace 303 Protectant, SPF 40 for your stuff. I use it instead of wax on nearly every surface on the outside of my TT. Spray on, wipe off.

How do you keep the 303 from streaking? The instructions say if you have streaks you have put to much product on, but it doesn’t take much to streak.

  • I waxed right over the decals, but be careful if using a power polisher. Go very lightly on the decals, so as not to risk lifting or damaging the edges.
