Nice article. I have a "Progressive Dynamics" converter with a charge Wizard. When I engage the charge wizard to around 14.2 volts am I shortening the life of any of my 12 volt components.. I have a combination of fluor.,icandescent, and some LED bulbs.
Seneca,
Your Progressive Dynamics Converter/Charger will not shorten the life of anything but possibly a lower quality incandescent light bulb. Vehicle electrical systems and therefore all RV components are stipulated to operate at up to 15.0 volts as that is the high end of automotive alternator output.
What your PD with wizard will do is make your batteries last both long between charges by pushing the batteries closer to the theoretical maximum charge and last longer if you keep power to it because it will fight stratification (failure to circulate electrolyte) and sulfation of the lead matrix.
No, I don't work for the company.
