Cross country Mass-Colorado

Well if you're headed to Durango, then drop down and take I 40 and come back up thru NM into the 4 corners area. Or 70 across, 25 down to Raton and then pick your way across.
Anyway, if you haven't noticed, trucks are stupid money anywhere right now. Good economy and cheap fuel combined with a lack of used inventory due to the recent opposite conditions = hi priced trucks and other gas guzzlers.
On a different note, not much industry nor a lot of jobs available down in the 4 corners. Aside from a place to park the trailer, not a great place for opportunity to "start over."
Will be more difficult to find a good job than other areas for sure.

If you read a lot of the reviews on the park, you will get a feel for the park. The reviews have not let me down so far. There are links to the park's web site so you can look up further information.

You need to purchase a trailer that will not freeze up in the winter. You need tanks that are heated or enclosed in a heated space. You need to make sure there are no exposed water lines. When you get to your destination, you will need to get a large external propane tank for heat and will want to enclose the bottom of the trailer. There are some great threads on how to keep you warm in the winter. My concern is you will get a poorly insulated trailer that will be impossible to keep from freezing.

It would but for the fact that the self contained trailers (even without titles) sell for huge money out there! Amazing the difference because I did think of that option as well! I think the reason is (according to my friend out there) is that anything that has a roof and rolls can be hidden in the woods and used as a hunting camp.
Trucks are stupid money too.
Can't be helped that I'm getting a truck 'here' mine is being towed to the junkyard this week. The trucks frame snapped and the body is now sitting on the wheel.

Here's an idea. Pack up your stuff into a u haul trailer, or buy a reasonably priced cargo trailer (can sell the trailer when you get out there), whatever is most economical, and tow a much smaller trailer out west and buy a camper out there. Or moving van and buy both when you get there.
Just thinking about what could be more economical and also not buying a vehicle in the rust belt, since you're buying an older truck presumably. Pulling a little 6x10 trailer will be way easier on you and the truck, going X country.

I'm glad you said that because I was leaning toward the Roo, simply because it is the newest one, but it didn't have the storage and both ends were the fold out canvas, which didn't seem practical.
I lost out on the flite, which really stinks now because that's the one with the middle bump out and 2 doors
Which leaves me with the Jayco 2450 that I can't find any information on

you'll have to really get some good help insulating an ultralight for those kind of winter temps.
and you'll have to have some electric heaters as the propane furnace is very inefficient.

State Parks are not going to be open in November.

You said you're heading south of Durango (Hwy 160) in Colorado. I'd suggest you work your way to I-40 and take that across to Albuquerque then take 550 north to Bloomfield/Aztec, New Mexico and a little further into Colorado near Durango.

I-40 can get storms but I-70 would be worse if a storm comes through. From I-70 you'd take I-25 south to 160 west and before coming to Pagosa Springs, CO on 160 you'd have to tackle Wolf Creek Pass which is a biggie (a ski hill is there). Driving it in November would not be pleasant.

I-40/550 wouldn't involve any big mountain passes to cross but still monitor the weather closely as you travel.

Use Interstate 70 and stay in State Parks through the week you should have no trouble. Your TT must be able to stand cold weather or it will freeze in Colo. 70 is mostly flat once you clear W Va. Ohio flattens out east of Columbus. In a pinch or to save money you can stay at Camping World London Ohio or Bass just east of ohio in W va. No charge and safe. Cracker Barrel is usually safe also.

My friend is on the west slope, south of Durango. If I can get there, they can help me get it set up with what is necessary to get through the winter.

I plan on buying (tomorrow) a Suburban 2500 (10K capacity) and hopefully I can get a F lite 25' that I have my eye on. there's also a 24' Jayco and a Rockwood Roo, but the Roo weighs 6800dry and there is no storage, not to mention that the hybrid thing to me seems stupid in the CO winter.. THAT kills me because it's the newest, best maintained and the guy REALLY needs to move it.

Gutting whatever I get for the most part to lessen the weight and have room for my stuff. It has a bump out where the table is, so boxes go there. I WAS hoping to find a trailer with a bedroom in the front so I could put all the weight in front of the wheels, sleep on the couch thing.. but I don't have the funds or the time to tire kick.

Will have the bearings repacked, brakes/tires checked on anything (I remember that from my horse trailer days)
Just stressed and needed some advice is all.

It can take me a week to get there for all I care honestly... but I will not impose my unwashed body on my poor dog.
