Buy the quietest generator you can afford. To some even the quietest is too noisy so you just can't please everyone. Compared to solar all generators are annoying but solar isn't for everyone just like not everyone can afford the quietest generator.
The Champion 3500/4000 is a good, dependable, easy to start generator. It is quieter than most open frames and the 120v only version has a cleaner sine wave too. You can get a sound tent that will knock it down to the same level as the Honda Handi or Champion 3100i. We have one but don't stay in campgrounds. If you hear ours running, you are too close. lol
