Thank you, bpounds, for standing up for me.
I am sure that a lot more people would post on the forums if the people that have too much time on their hands would find something better to do than voice their hateful posts.I can't understand why some people are so full of hate.
bpounds is one of very few offering you totally erroneous advice, just about everyone else is trying to help you avoid a potentially disastrous situation. Hateful? ... you sadly couldn't be more mistaken ... you're confusing the messenger with the message, a critical mistake on your part just because you don't like the message. :(
Best of luck, you're going to need it with your intention to tow a full height travel trailer like this with your Kia van. ;) - LarryJMExplorer II

It too bad that you have IMO UNWISELY chosen to ignore the almost unanimous and VERY SOUND advice you got in your prior thread here. I won't waste my breath to answer your current question since it's obvious you really don't want nor will consider seriously the value of those much more experienced and knowledgeable about towing. Sadly folks like you just don't appreciate how dangerous not having all these towing factors being in one's favor can be when MR. MURPHY makes that unexpected call on you under unfavorable conditions which he love to do.
All I can say is GOOD LUCK and I hope you have a lot in the bank since you might need a lot of it and I and the majority I think of us more experience appreciate how dangerous is is to depend too much on LUCK.

The travel trailer I purchased weighs 2600 lbs. I did a test tow before purchasing and the Kia pulled the trailer like a champ
The travel trailer that I test towed had a slide and weighed 250lbs more than the one I am purchasing. You couldn't even tell the trailer was back there
When going up hills the rpms never exceeded 2300rpms. The transmission handled great with no straining. The Kia is rated to pull 3500 lbs.
If you read the towing section of the Kia's owners manual, I'll bet there's a frontal area limitation that any TT will exceed.
You'd lose that bet...
I just looked up the owners manual and the only limitations listed are weight (and speed).2006 Sedona Owner's Manual wrote:
Always drive your vehicle at a moderate
speed (less than 100 km/h (60
mph)).
• On a long uphill grade, do not exceed 70 km/h (45 mph) or the posted towing speed limit, whichever is lower.
• The important considerations have to do with weight:
CAUTION
• Due to higher load during trailer usage, overheating might occur in hot days or during uphill driving. If the coolant gauge indicates over-heating, switch off the A/C and stop the vehicle in a safe area to cool down the engine.
• When towing check transaxle fluid more frequently.
• If your vehicle is not equipped with the air conditioner, you should install a condenser fan to improve engine performance when towing a trailer.
How heavy can a trailer safely be? It should never weigh more than the maximum trailer weight with trailer brakes. But even that can be too heavy. It depends on how you plan to use your trailer. For example, speed, altitude, road grades, outside temperature and how much your vehicle is used to pull a trailer are all important. The ideal trailer weight can also depend on any special equipment that you have on your vehicle.
Weight of the trailer tongue
The tongue load of any trailer is an important weight to measure because it affects the total gross vehicle weight (GVW) of your vehicle. This weight includes the curb weight of the vehicle, any cargo you may carry in it, and the people who will be riding in the vehicle. And if you will tow a trailer, you must add the tongue load to the GVW because your vehicle will also be carrying that weight. The trailer tongue should weigh a maximum of 10% of the total loaded trailer weight. After you've loaded your trailer, weigh the trailer and then the tongue, separately, to see if the weights are proper.
... - RPreebExplorerIt's one thing to drive a vehicle at it's towing limit when it's designed to be a hauler (i.e, a truck, and even then it isn't a great idea), quite another to do the same thing with a vehicle designed to do nothing more strenuous than take the kids to soccer practice. Do what you like, but I wouldn't care to be along with you.

Well, looks like all I did was sic the weight police on you. You know who they are...the ones who read internet forums all day, and formulate their "experience".
Your vehicle has a tow rating of 3,500#, and you selected a trailer with a GVWR of 3,500#. Sleep well, and enjoy your RV lifestyle. - westendExplorerThe OP is going to get what she wants and that is the end result of any purchase.
Personally, I wouldn't tow a utility trailer with a minivan but that is me. At the very least, I'd suggest the OP visit a customizer, one experienced in suspensions. I don't know if a significant upgrade to the rear suspension is practical or even possible but a multi link rear suspension is going to get a severe workout with the hitch weight of the trailer. - Jebby14Explorerwe don't hate at all. we just want you and those around you to stay alive

This statement has been proven to be one of the top newbie mistakes, in the RV world.
What you are are wrongly perceiving as "hate", is advice from seasoned and experienced towers who have learned the hard way and seen the mistakes of others over the years.
You came here on your other thread and chose to ignore the advice from experienced RVers.
Don't expect members to feel sympathetic. - AllworthExplorer IINot hate!
