You are correct. It seems that when you're waiting in line to dump. the 'It's all about me' syndrome goes into effect.
Unfortunately, we can't fix rude/stupid. We can only deal with it...

The "all about me syndrome" also applies to the hotheads in line - doesn't it? I'm not intimidated by it. If there is a line, either wait patiently in line or check out earlier. What a stupid thing to get aggravated over.
