They have about 1000% mark up. A $2000 extended warranty can be had for a fraction of the cost if you shop for it separately after the purchase.
i bought it and used it on my last 5er after the 4th year and I bought the extended warranty from the dealer thru whatever company. It paid for itself in one claim and mine had a ZERO deductable.
It's insurance and that's the bottom line, you either believe in it or you don't, you can afford it or you can't, you think its a waste of money or you don't. Bottom line on a new purchase it's not gonna hurt your deal at all. I thought it was a no brainer
