Fan on air conditioner

One of these is variable speed, has a cigar/cigarette type receptacle plug on the end and is 12v. We bought one several years ago and it works very nice when outside or inside. Set on a table or the floor.

With no electric hookups your RV AC unit will not function since it's operation depends on having the same 120 volt power you have coming out of the outlets in your home. Your RV batteries supply 12 volts DC similar to your car and can not power your RV AC unit unless you have an inverter to convert battery DC voltage to house type AC voltage.

If you have vent fans they can be run to create airflow that will provide some relief, especially overnight when temps cool a bit. There are portable 12 volt fans available at Camping World, and some car/truck part stores if you have cigarette lighter type outlets in your RV to plug fans into. Hard to say how long they can run without knowing battery history.

Camping without hookups in very cold or hot temps is challenging since batteries tend to be depleted at an accelerated rate. Furnace and fans need to be run excessively under these conditions and batteries take a beating to meet these demands in addition to it's obligatory duties. Some method to recharge batteries is needed if camping without power, even for a few days.

Hope you can get some relief, my DW and I have difficulty sleeping in overly warm temps. We do prefer and thoroughly enjoy camping without any type of hookups. We have invested in solar and generators making dry camping under most any condition pleasant and worry free. If you rarely camp without hookups then no need to invest, just try to make the best of it on this trip.

I agree with "the bear II" above. We use the Ryobi portable fan with stand. Helps cool down with A/C on then cools down at night with A/C off. I keep a couple of charged batteries available. It seems by the time the battery gets low and the fan slows down, my Toy hauler is cool and sometimes even cold before the sun comes up. Keeps RV batteries from draining up as well.

luckily, our hybrid has 3 12v fans. the bathroom Fantastic Fan and 2 bunk fans.

We have two fans we bought that are battery powered and rechargeable
Both of them last 6 to 8 hours and recharge in about an hour.

One is made by Ryobi we got at Home Depot the other we got at Walmart or Target don't remember the brand it also has an am/fm radio.

Both work well to keep us reasonably cool

I am not sure you have a clear understanding of your RV's electrical system. You need to know what runs on 12v and what runs on 120V.

usually your lights and maybe a bathroom fan will run on 12V supplied by batteries.

Pretty much everything else - outlets, AC, Microwave, etc - all run on 120v which requires shore power.

You can't make your AC fan only, run on 12V. it's not wired that way. Your entire AC unit, fan only or not, runs on 120V which requires shore power.

You "may" have a bathroom vent fan that runs on 12V. It won't cool much and it won't run verfy long on batteries alone.

Shore power, solar or some other means is required to recharge your batteries and that must be done before they reach 33% capacity or you risk shortening their life and charging ability.

In order to know what you can run, you need to know the amp hours of your batteries and the amp draw of what you plan on running. This will tell you your capacity.

WHAT WILL YOU PLUG IT INTO you have no A/C power. DO you have a device to turn 12 volt into 110 volt?

What are you going to plug it in to? Without power a 120v plug in fan won't run either.
