Yep i'm a seasonal and my dog walks around the whole campground with me...all the time. He is a magnet for kids and anyone else needing/wanting a kiss/hug. He's rather large and hard to miss. :-) He does not bark back at the "visiting" dogs that talk to him as we walk by their sites. He loves meeting and playing with all the other pups when allowed. He is such a good boy that management and workers from the campground come to see how he's doing. He's never chained up on our site but sits by his people, watching everyone go by. He doesn't poop in other's sites because he is trained to go in his spot just as he does at home. Yep, i'm bragging just a little. Just to let other's know that there are good dogs and owners out there.
Cash is our good boy who is never short of loving company.
I was going to get to the end before responding, but this post, are you my wife?
Our dogs, a 3 year old norwegian elkhound and a 1.5 year old huskie, both male, go with us everywhere. First thing when we get up, we put on yesterdays clothes and walk the dogs. then breakfast, then walk the dogs again.
At home, we just let them out (in our 1 acre electric fence protected yard) but at the campground, our lives revolve around walking our boys.
We always pick up their solid waste, and try real hard to keep them from marking every tree, bush, signpost, etc...
But they are make dogs and that is what they do.
Our blue eyed huskie is a young people magnet. Everyone wants to say hello, to pet him, even if he does get a lil rambunctious sometimes.
Our Elkhound, at three, is a lil more laid back. He is also the kindest, gentlest "person" you will ever see.
Both love all people and most other dogs.
Neither would ever hurt a soul. Yes, I'll keep them away from those who are obviously nervous. Just the same, someone pushes the stroller with their no year old within leash range, the baby will probably get a husky kiss.
I've vaguely heard of people who are not dog lovers.
But I don't know or encourage any.
