First time as a seasonal camper

I think its sad that there are people out there that dont like dogs, they are very loving and awesome animals but I guess I can understand. Ive seen some untrained dogs and inconsiderate owners out there. I have/had a doberman and a chihuahua, they were best friends. My doberman passed about 3 weeks ago, she had congestive heart failure, enlarged heart and an arrhythmia. She was the best dog ever, should would play with the chihuahua all the time and she was so gentle with him. I live in the country but when I travel or camp I never have them on a leash. They are very well trained and wont run off or go bother people if I tell them to stay. They stick very close to me and come when I tell them too. I always make sure I introduce myself and the dogs to the neighbors and see if they care if they roam free and so far everyone has been cool. I would tie them up if someone had a problem but prefer not to. Some people are scared of Dobermans but they dont know anything about them, they have only heard bad things. Dobes are one of the best, friendliest, smartest breeds out there. I know my dogs are happier off leash.
