First time traveling through Colorado and freezing temps

So we're from Florida and passing through Colorado to get to Wyoming for a winter vacation, I've been told that the roads might be bad in Colorado and covered in ice/snow? Does anyone here have any ex...

Fresh tank s/b fine. The rest is subject to bursting due to water expanding if it freezes. Leave the taps open. (water pump off) Open the low point drains if you know where they are. Open the water heater T&P valve. Kinda late for much else.
