Fix needed for older antenas?

Well, alas the link did not work for me (Local issues I suspect) but if the unit has a mast heat amplifier that runs on 12 volt, center wire of coax positive, and an indoor power supply, the Winegard Sensar Pro replaces the PS/Switch and provides indication of signal strength.

Or use the front TV to aim.

There are many ways to get around the TV not being around the pointing knob. I don't even use the TV to peak the antenna.
Hopefully you understand that there is a reason that the omni you show is by far the worst performer of anything else in the RV market? To start you won't get anywhere near the channels that your neighbors do. So if you're OK getting what you get or resort to a book, it's a great choice.

Trying to point the antenna from my bedroom when my only TV is in the living room is a two person job. Not to mention the little arrow does not seam to accurately coincide with the direction of the bat wing.

Just want to some watch TV without a degree in antennae science. Don't want the expense or hassle of a dish/satellite TV antennae.

Yup, this is the other reason I do not like the Jack... Chan 5 is VHF low.. since the Digital plan called for ALL TV transmitters to vacate VHF Low, Jack did not design for it.. The wings are too short for VHF low and thus performance sufferes big time down there.

VHF-Hi perpahs I would have to measure (Needs just under a meter wing span to do well on Chan 7-13) It is fair at UHF. Batwing is better on all 3 bands.

If I were staying at Yankee Springs and using a Jack, I would not expect to get even an extremely pixelated picture. With a Batwing, no problem.

Well as to the coxial deck fitting,, Not what you need at the roof line. But yes, it might work properly caulked.

As to the Jack.. The Winegard Roadstar "Flying Saucer" is junk, no gain to speak of (though there is a model that appears identical to it that might work, Winegard does not, far as I know, carry it (Radio Shack does) it is a directional flying saucer though)

The Jack, has limited gain compared to the WSinegard Sensar line.

The advantage of the Jack over the Sensar is greater beam width.. Which where I'm currently parked might help. or not.

The advantage of the Winegard over the jack is greater gain (Which means tighter beam width by the way because that is how you create gain)

For me, DISTANCE (Gain = distance) is more important.

In most markets, You find the transmission towers "Clustered" for example.

Top of the highest local mountain.. Studios may be scattered but transmitters are often withen a stones's throw of each other.

Specific Example.. 3 Cities in Michigan
Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, and Grand Rapids.

Transmitters are all close to Gun Lake (in the township, near the lake).

There is no such thing as a digital or HD antenna. The older antennas were designed to cover the VHF and UHF band. The newer antennas are aimed more to the UHF band where most of the stations have moved.

When I was trouble shooting my current antenna issue I went out and bought one of the Antenna Direct antennas and was really impressed with its performance. Not sure how it's beam pattern compares with something like the Batwing w/wingman, but this type could be mounted on an existing Batwing mast and could be a decent alternative to the Batwing w/wingman. This antenna from what I can tell has better multipath and back ratio signal rejection properties because of it's design.



I guess you could call some of these type of planar antennas a better design for digital signals since a lot of issues with digital reception is the multipath interference that can happen which degrades the digital processing ability of the receiver.

Actually below is pic of the type of feed through plate on my TT except mine doesn't have the nut on top as the one in the pic does ... I think the hole in the plate itself is threaded, but I'm not sure since I've never taken it off or apart.
