Flashlight

Another vote for Harbor Freight freebies. If you drop one out of the truck or into a river you just get out another one. We have 5 or 6 of them.

I have 2 browning rechargeable headlamps from Walmart. $30 and you can plug them into your phone charger to recharge. I have used them for about 3 years now hunting, and my side job where I was having to crawl under houses. It’s nice to have your hands free. I believe the light is 300 lumens, with a few different power levels.

As a retired law enforcement officer I want flashlights that I can bet my life on. I carry 3 flashlights in my truck at all times that put out 400, 1000, and 3500 lumens. The 3500 uses 9 AA batteries. I also have a matching set in my TT . I have a 1000 lumen "lantern" in the TT for lighting up larger areas. Most of these lights came from Menard's and have lifetime warranties. I have had some of them for over 5 years. They are sold under the Guidesman brand.

I got these a few months ago and they work great
They have the larger 18650 rechargeable batteries and last a long time
They also have the strobe which I don't care for
The zoom is nice.
Projects a long narrow beam or you can use it for a wider view
Feel heavy duty
Kind of weird with the square led bulb
Best money i ever spent from all the flashlights I've tried

Gotta ask: Why do you often seen LEOs and the FBI on TV hold flashlights overhand? Is it a TV/movie thing or is there a real reason for it? Doesn't look particularly comfortable or maneuverable.

And it's a four year old thread. :B

I hold mine like that so that I can hold it off to the side or way up high without shifting my grip. The reason for holding out to the side is if someone shoots at you at night, they will usually shoot at the light. You can then return fire at their muzzle flash.

Favorite is the Fenix E12.
Powered by one AA and so small it disappears in your pocket.
I have another Fenix that takes four AA's that is ten times brighter.
All of the Fenix lights have variable brightness.
