Florida Pruduce Stops

We crossed from Ga to Fl on I 10 several times and never noticed one or stopped. We did stop at the one on SR 51 and the guy stared at us from his seat for a minute and waved us by.
We went thru Suwanee Spring a couple of times,and it was not even manned.

They are on the Interstates as well.

They sometimes get touchy about not stopping too. We were going to NC towing enclosed bike trailer and was waved through. On the return trip, I was driving and decided since the guy waved me through I wouldn't stop. DH lectured me about it and as I looked in mirror I saw blue lights. The officer ask what we hauling, told him Harleys and golf clubs. He wanted to look, fine with us. I got a warning ticket, I guess it was a slow day. Moral of story, we go through Fl inspection stations now. We were on secondary road out of Lake City.

Duhhh! My question is Why do they exist on secondary roads when the majority of traffic enters Florida on the interstates where the inspection stations do not exist?
