Ok, we are brand new to the RV world, and camping. How do you plan your food purchases, how much, dos and don'ts. I guess frozen is out of the question since we can't travel with refrigerator on.
Even if you don't choose to run the fridge on propane while traveling, if you load frozen items into the freezer with a few freezer gel packs or just plain ice it should be fine for quite some time.
You can travel with the refrigerator on propane. Some tunnels require you turn it off and you may want to turn it off at the gas station (some do, some don't). We load ours the day before the trip and travel on.
Yes, you can travel with the refrigerator on. Some tunnels/bridges ask you to turn off the propane when driving through/over them but otherwise there's no reason to turn it off.
