I never use my awning and never thought much about it. But out west, the wind caught it just right and it started to unfurl, even though it was in the locked position. I drilled a few holes in the drip rail and wrapped short bungie cords around the awning and hooked them in the holes. Its still working about 8 years later. It fixed my problem but is easily reversible if I ever sell it.
