We have well water, no chlorine.
WA Dept. of Health says 1 oz. of bleach for 10 Gallons of water to purify drinking water.
My final solution is sanitize twice a year,
Drain, refill with well water and add bleach each trip.
Thanks
That ratio of chlorine to water would be more along the line for shock chlorinating a well not for purifying water.
To purify your water add 2 teaspoons of chlorine per 10 gallons for water.
Yuck to both. Sanitize the tank and flush completely, Don't add any chlorine to the water you're using.
BTW, both yer ratios are off by orders of magnitude. Municipal water has a target chlorination of like 2ppm and 4 or 5 max.
2 tsp to 10 gal is about 1:4000
Tap water should be 1: 500000.
I think you need to do some research on purifying untreated water. 2 tsps per 10 gallons is the recommended amount.
