Fridge shelving problem...Please help?

Norcold 821, twice now the refrigerator shelve has fallen out of the grooves that hold it in place. Maybe fridge is made just a millimeter to big or shelve a millimeter to narrow? But I do know that when a shelve falls down, it falls down to the shelve below it and creates makes a big mess. I thought whipping cream was bad to pick up. Salad oil is just as bad if not worse.

Anybody know of something that would work as a "shim".

All ideas welcome.

Thanks
  • We may have an answer as to why they fall;

    E-Bay

    Slipping some split tubing (like fish tank air hose) over the side rails may be a good solution.

    Are the shelves in question glass, metal racks or plastic ?

    Metal racks could be bent slightly maybe but most any style could have a section of clear plastic hose split and put on the side edges.

    Op here...

    Thanks for all suggestions so far.

    Metal racks, like this found on e bay

    Metal racks could be bent slightly maybe but most any style could have a section of clear plastic hose split and put on the side edges.
  • Not sure if it would make any sense to go to a glass shop and have shelves make that fit better.
  • Last year we did a rough trip with a lot of back roads through Colorado. I was having a problem with the door shelves in the fridge bouncing and popping off. I used a hot glue gun and pumped glue in where the shelf attaches. It held them in place for the trip but I was able to pick it off when we got back home.
  • what about a strip cut from that spongy shelf liner? I use in in all my shelves so stuff doesnt slide. If you cut a strip off of it an put it over the end of the shelf and shove it back in that grove it may be just enough to make it stay in there.
