My thermostat has a little rise in the housing where the temperature adjustment switch slides. It's at the far left (coldest setting) and you have to push the switch past that rise to actually turn it off. I had mine coming on when it all the way to the left, but not past the rise. Once I noticed the rise and pushed the switch past that, it didm't come on. Hope I explained this where it's understandable as it is difficult to explain.
