We stopped with easiest in/out when we had the truck/tt combo. We preferred regular car lanes to truck specific lanes because one didn't need to go inside to pay. But, sometimes only truck lanes were convenient.
One learns pretty quickly how to size up a station and the ease with which one can get back on the road.
Download the app "Gas Buddy." It will give you locations and prices (there is a diesel tab). Almost always, large truck stops were more expensive, but sometimes the ease and convenience was worth it.
