Good portable boat?

Anyone have a recommendation for a good portable small boat that will fit in a 11 ft TH garage? Like a blow up boat?

Also, what do you do about fishing license? I assume you need a license unless campgrounds are exempt?

Thanks.

  • Thanks, everyone! Glad to see several choices. With the F350 and a toy hauler, we can't bring the Robalo or the 16 ft. Duck boat we have, but I can't imagine camping anywhere with water and not getting to go out on a boat!
  • We just bought a blow-up pontoon boat that seats 4 people and can house a trolling motor. Its the Sea Eagle 440. They also make a two seater. These are great fishing boats - come with the fishing pole mounts.

Howard and Linda at RV-Dreams.com have two boats from the same folks.

Their website takes a bit of looking around, but you will find what you are looking for.
  • I believe camping world sells the folding boat. To my surprise it is quite worthy of rough water. Used one with 2 big guys and 5 hp motor.
  • We carry a 13" inflatable in the basement, and run it with a 15 horse.
  • Thanks, Francesca.

Bobbo, may I ask about how much that bote is? That one is more like I was wondering about. Thanks!

    Porta-Bote makes an 8'6" and a 10'8" bote. I love my 12'6" bote.

That thing that looks like a surf board on top of my car is the folded up bote. I have the seats, transom and engine in the back of the car.

  • My husband loves his pontoon boat- aluminum frame that snaps together, and two blowup pontoons. Real easy to pack. Of course, this is a wet-foot boat- can't recommend a dry-foot inflatable. (My own boat is a ten foot canoe that travels atop the tug.)

    Per fishing licences:

Our experience has been that one needs a licence issued by the State one's in, except for in National Parks.
