I have never had any officer ask if a weapon is in the vehicle. If he asks, don't lie. Whether you wish to volunteer the information or not is up to you. They will know if you have a CCP before they approach your vehicle. Your license plate is run before you have to chance to pull over, and if the registered owner of the vehicle has a CCP in any state it pops up on the dispatchers computer screen and is immediately radioed to the officer. Some departments can have the officer run the plates from his vehicle via a built-in voice activated computer.
