I borrowed a handgun one time from a cop friend for a camping/touring trip, no permit, and worried about getting stopped and asked or searched. I'd rather take the risk of not carrying a gun especially with current cop vs public conditions. We have learned to avoid parking overnight in isolated camp spots, rest stops, parking lots, etc. but have had a few instances where we felt endangered and moved. Good to know that many other RV's do carry firearms and that bad guys probably know it.
