I think it the height of cynicism (not to mention bad manners) to presume that just because someone is new, a post on a subject like this is a "troll". There are plenty of other markers for that kind of nonsense, should one care enough to apply them.
In my opinion the reason that new people don't come back is more often due to the unbelievably rude reception they get after posting a perfectly innocent- however naive- question.
There were plenty of valid and courteous responses to the OP in this thread. If the OP is shocked at a couple of perfectly reasonable responses about the intention of his original post than he/she hasn't been on the internet very much.
